Cape Breton Highlands Academy explores electricity and energy efficiency!

Engagement Officer Shandel Brown visited Cape Breton Highlands Academy on Oct. 25th, and both Grade 9 science classes and a Grade 7/8 social studies class explored electricity and energy efficiency! Students were excited to go home and tell their parents and guardians all about Efficiency Nova Scotia’s HomeWarming program and Residential Direct Install (yay LED lights!).

CBHA also has a rockin’ Green Team who fundraised last year to install a water bottle refill station. Not only are students bringing reusable water bottles to school rather than purchasing bottled water, but everyone agrees the refill station filtration system has greatly improved the taste of the water.

The Green Team also took Green Schools light clings to every classroom to remind all students to waste less!
