Nutrients for Life visits New Glasgow Academy!
Back to storiesTamara Sealy from Nutrients for Life had an awesome visit with New Glasgow Academy’s two Grade 3 classes!
Teachers Ashley Robertson and Jeannine McCulley welcomed Tamara who shared her story of being a farmer and then asked for the children to share their farming stories. One of the children told everyone that he was a bee farmer.
Tamara talked to the students about the importance of soils and how soil supports agriculture. She then asked everyone to stand up and pretend that they were plants. She has he students pretend that their arms were the branches and that their feet were roots collecting all the nutrients from the soil to stay healthy.
At the end of the presentation the children got to plant a few tomato seeds from Vesey Seeds to take home.
