BRETON EDUCATION CENTRE CAREER FAIR

On February 28, our Cape Breton Engagement Officer Avery was invited to take part in a career fair hosted by Breton Education Centre in New Waterford – a new offering by the Green Schools’ Team which we are so excited to roll out in schools across the province! This event gave students from Grade 9 to Grade 12 the opportunity to chat with industry professionals from all over Cape Breton about their career, education, and what got them interested in their field of work. Avery shares his experiences with the event.

“I had an absolute blast at BEC’s career fair! Getting to talk with so many students was pretty cool – hearing about their dreams and what they want to do with their futures was nothing short of inspiring. Lots of the students had great questions about what makes a job Green, what schooling they’d need, and what responsibilities those jobs would have. I loved the curiosity shown by the students! I had the opportunity to talk about the amazing opportunities right here at home in the green sector and the training available that makes a difference to our environment, helping us work towards those Net Zero goals. The staff at BEC were so friendly and welcoming and I’m so glad Green Schools NS was invited to this event!”
