Berwick and District School’s green initiatives!

Berwick and District School is involved with many green initiatives!

Their Green Team consists of younger students who are in charge of the refundables, recyclables and clean-ups for the year. As a school, they have had walk-to-school days, a food drive and a field trip with Valley Waste’s Planet Protectors program.

All these initiatives are driven by an abundance of people, and this big group has been essential in successfully raising funds for their new outdoor spaces. Their final event was the Outdoor Classroom Fundraising Dinner where they were able to bring their total raised to $23,500.00! They also had many monetary donations to purchase benches, tables and bleachers. They plan to have it all in place for their annual community BBQ on June 9th. Awesome!
