Caldwell Road Elementary learned all about electricity and energy!
Back to storiesGreen Schools visited Ms Tenwolde’s and Ms Murray’s Grade 5s and 6s at Caldwell Road Elementary in Dartmouth to talk about electricity and the environment. Students had already learned about the basics of electricity in their classroom and about electrical safety from Nova Scotia Power. Green Schools was invited in to elaborate on the topics of energy and energy efficiency. This included what it is and where it comes from – and do you know what the first rule of energy is? This is also called the law of conservation of energy. Check out the end of this post for the answer*!
Then Green Schools specifically discussed one form of energy – electricity – and how we can save it and be more efficient and why this is so important. The students at Caldwell Road had spent time talking about renewable and non-renewable resources, and the environment in the run up to Earth Day. They made Earth placards to display on the bulletin board to demonstrate how important the world is to them and things they can do to reduce their impact on the planet
Fascinating topics for Caldwell Road Elementary!
