Congratulations to Sacred Heart School Halifax’s graduating Green Team members!
Back to storiesAt the end of the 2015-2016 school year, Green Team leader Linda Davis hosted a lovely Environmental Pledge Ceremony for the 2016 grads. Green Schools was honoured to be invited with other guests including Lil MacPherson (owner of the Wooden Monkey Restaurant and Halifax mayoral candidate), poet Joyce Caines, and climate activists and educators Naomi Hill, director of sustainability at Fusion Halifax, and Hannah Mills, from the People’s Climate Plan.
The ceremony included some great stories and speeches, a song, and concluded with the graduates reciting the environmental pledge:
“I pledge to explore and take into account the social and environmental consequences of any task or job I consider and will try to improve these aspects in any organization for which I work.”
This was followed with the planting of a tomato plant in the front of the school and some lovely refreshments. Thanks for your work and dedication to your school’s Green Team and best of luck in your future endeavours ladies!
