Hands-on Fun and Learning at Kings County Academy

Back to news

EO Katie visited Kings County Academy last week and had a blast talking to both middle and elementary school students.

The school is very impressive when thinking about sustainability! KCA has a carpool parking lot, and an idle free zone for vehicles and was LEED certified in 2011 when it was rebuilt.  LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the world’s green building system.  LEED-certified buildings mean that the building has a high efficiency and cost savings green building.

EO Katie also received a lovely thank you picture from Mr. Leppert’s grade 5/6 French Immersion class, a lot of fun was had by all acting out a climate change activity!
