Northumberland Regional High School 4 Elements Conference: Earth-Wind-Fire-Rain!
Back to storiesNorthumberland Regional High School had their Green Team’s 4 Elements two day conference: Earth-Wind-Fire-Rain last month!
With the support of Green Team Leader Mary Alice Ali and other staff, the Green Team/Environmental Club organized everything for the conference. Holding the event was in keeping with the club’s mandate to encourage green sustainable practices. There were guest speakers and workshop presenters who engaged students on sustainability, soil health and green growing, energy efficiency, and water and air quality as a human right.
Engagement Officer Tabitha Coleman spoke to a group of Grade 9 students about the Green Schools program, and how they can “Be the Change” for their school and community. She was also there to help encourage more students to consider joining the Green Team as the majority of the current team members are in Grade 12 and will graduating at the end of the school year.
At the end of the visit the students wrote out the #EarthToParis hashtag on individual pieces of paper and watched the Earth to Paris Anthem.
