Park West Excel full of energy!

Back to stories

Who knew students could learn in class all day and still have so much energy?

This large group of students from Park West Excel learned about energy after a long day at school, starting with the Grade Primary group. First they had storytime and then talked about how each of them could help the earth. They talked a lot about how cleaning up is helpful, which was great to hear!

The next group was Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6. This group learned about key terms like renewable and nonrenewable energy sources. Energy is a big topic!

Grades 1 and 2 came next, and the parade of energy presentations continued. These students did very well in coming up with ways to explain electricity. It has to come from somewhere, and to help the earth we must use less!

The Excel groups really enjoyed the Green Schools True or False game, which had them running back and forth between the true and false side and sticking to their decisions about energy habits. A rave review from one surprised young person: “This is actually FUN!”

Awesome job Park West Excel!
