Petite Rivière Elementary School’s 1st Annual Clothing Swap!

Petite Rivière Elementary School hosted their 1st Annual Clothing Swap!

Their swap was perfectly timed and even had an education component! In their weekly newsletter leading up the event they listed some waste reduction clothing swap facts. They had the swap open to parents and students in the evening during parent-teacher meetings.

The next morning, students were then permitted to ‘shop’. Older students helped the younger students pick out clothes that would fit and they would possibly like. The younger students were very proud to be receiving clothes that the students they look up to had worn. The swap ended with more parents shopping during the afternoon parent-teacher session. At the end only two bags of clothes were left and dropped in a local clothes drop box.
