Portland Estates Elementary is feeling green!

This fall at Portland Estates Elementary, Ms Bates Grade ⅔ class learned about energy by looking at examples all around us. Where is energy used in your home? What about in your school?

During a Green Schools presentation about energy, students learned some helpful terms such as “renewable” and “nonrenewable energy sources”, and got to play Energy Bingo! After learning about energy efficiency, Ms Bates’ whole class wrote down the phone number for Efficiency Nova Scotia, and there is no doubt some Energy Solutions Advisors’ phones are going to be ringing soon to tell people more about saving energy!

In addition to their energy focus, this school has a great waste sorting program which is very well-labeled. Portland Estates Elementary definitely knows what it means to be a Green School!
