South Queens Middle School cleans up Liverpool for Earth Day!

Back to stories

South Queen’s Middle School decided to make a huge impact on their town for Earth Day!

Two teachers, Vanessa Henwood and Sarah Tutty, divided the whole town of Liverpool into 10 sections. Each homeroom was given a section to clean in an hour and a half. The students and 25 staff enjoyed their time walking around town and picking up litter. They were able to clean up some real dirty spots and have conversations on why some areas had so much trash.

It was great to see encouragement from the people in the community by either beeping as they drove by or simply saying thank you as they walked by. It is hoped that this cleanup will inspire those 219 students to not litter themselves and continue to pick up litter when they see it.

Way to go South Queens!
