Warming up at the Margaree Centre Winter Festival!

Engagement Officer Shandel Brown recently joined the Margaree Centre Winter Festival!

While enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate inside children and adults were provided the opportunity to try their hand at some fun Green Schools activities, and to learn all about energy efficiency.

Children had the chance to try an energy meter that displayed how much electricity an incandescent, compact fluorescent light, and LED light bulbs use. Parents and guardians were also eager to learn which bulbs were more energy efficient, and all about the programs offered by Efficiency Nova Scotia to help improve energy efficiency in homes and reduce power bills.

Other fun energy efficiency activities on hand were a colouring page that children could highlight their favourite electronic device that needs electricity to work and learned how smart power bars help us waste less!
